Flame Resistant Conveyor Belt Description
Flame resistant conveyor belt is used where the conveyed material or operating environment increases fire risk. Coal mines, coal-fired power plants, enclosed galleries, tunnels and transfer points often require belt compounds with flame-retardant and, in many cases, anti-static characteristics.
The correct belt depends on whether the conveyor is above ground, underground, enclosed, exposed to weather, or subject to local mine safety rules. For underground and high-safety coal applications, PVC/PVG solid woven belts may be more suitable, while rubber flame-resistant belts may fit above-ground heavy-duty conveyors.
A professional inquiry should include the required safety standard or test requirement, belt width, strength, cover thickness, installation location and conveyed material. This helps prevent under-specifying the belt for a safety-critical project.
